As I made my way through the Sensualité exhibition for the first time, three pieces immediately caught my eye. Each completely different in subject, format, and medium, they all struck me in their unique relationship to the exhibition’s guiding theme.

Michel T. Desroches is a multidisciplinary artist whose work seeks to explore both the tangible and intangible of the human experience. He focuses on expression, emotion, and conveyance of what lies beneath the surface.

Like so many of us engaged in the world of art, my first love was Impressionism. The sketchy brushstokes, vibrant palettes, and modern subjects captured the attention of 19th century Europe, and remains an artistic and cultural influence to this day.
