To meet her in real life is a gift. Michele has a kindness that runs deeper than the superficial social niceties that most of us possess. This deep compassion and gentleness come through in her work. Her animal portraits are more than just great facsimiles of bears, manatees, or mountain gorillas. She pulls you into their eyes, their environment, and their relationships.

A longtime animal rights activist, much of her work is centered around raising awareness for animal rights and the struggles of endangered species. She has won many awards for her artistic talent, and it is a privilege and a joy to have her work on our walls.
Throughout her lifetime of travels, Michele has always found nature to be an endless source of inspiration. From the Canadian North to the South Pacific, she has an eye for finding beauty in all living creatures.

We want to say congratulations to Michele, on this well-deserved award! Her tribute to the late Jane Goodall and the magestic mountain gorillas is both excellent and moving.
“I am very proud to have received this award from @teravarna for my painting of the Western Lowland Gorilla, critically endangered.”— Michele Cauchon
Michele’s work will be on display at Galerie d’Art Émergence as part of our Introspection exhibit until December 24th, 2025.
